Help develop the national framework for business support

Ahead of the official September 2026 launch, the Alliance is working with a first group of combined and local authorities to pilot the new model. Each pilot authority puts a cohort of advisers through the new qualification and accreditation by the levy-funded apprenticeship route, delivered with the Academy of Leadership and Management (ALM), at no cost beyond your existing levy allocation.

What taking part involves

A cohort of your advisers trains through the levy-funded apprenticeship with ALM, carrying the new qualification and leading to accreditation.

  • Participation costs nothing beyond your existing levy allocation.
  • Your team feeds back on the model, the qualification and the draft Standard, and that feedback shapes the final version.
  • Your advisers are among the first names on the verified national register when it launches in September 2026.
  • It is a working model for the pilot period, not a procurement commitment or a paid membership.
